for Email Attachements
| |
| |
| The files that are created on the disk when
pictures are taken on the Mavica camera will look like one of the 2
pictures to the right when it is viewed in the computer. Depending
on if your computer is set to show hidden files or not.

Start by opening WinZip.
Push the "Start" button and choose WinZip icon. (Figure 1)
or Choose the WinZip icon from your desktop. (Figure 2).
(There are usually several ways of doing something in the
Windows environment. They are all correct, as long as you get the
same results.) |

(Figure 2) |
| We use the shareware installation, just
hit the button "I Agree". The button that says "I
Agree" moves back and forth between the left and center
buttons. They do that to make it confusing. |

| Choose "New", to create a new
archive |
You will see the "New Archive" window. |

Use the drop-down box at the top of the "New Archive"
window to choose the "Desktop" from the drop down
menu.

Then, in the "File name:" box, name the
new archive you are creating and choose
"OK". (I chose "pictures" in the example, but, anything will work.)
(Don't use "/ \ * . # $ % & ^ @ + ="
characters in your file names. Spaces, underlines and hyphens are
o.k. in file names.) |

| Choose "Add" from the tool bar |

| Insert the floppy disk that contains the photos.
Choose the "3 1/2" Floppy (A:) from the drop down menu.
(This is where the Mavica's pictures are located) |

| Choose "Add with wildcards", this chooses all
the files on the floppy disk to add to your new archive. |

| After the file is completed compressing the window will
look like this. |

| WinZip will have created a file icon on your desktop with
the name of the file archive that you typed in above. This is the
file that has your pictures in it. This is the file that you will
email to others that may be needing your pictures. |
